I designed this shawl for my mother, on her Birthday.  She inspires me daily and wanted to show my gratitude and love through a design inspired by her; calm, bright and beautiful.   Birthday Wishes Shawl is an asymmetrical triangle, the shape fits well on the body, draping perfectly and steadfast, never falling.  The simple construction and Garter St/St-st stripes make this an easy pattern to sink into a rhythm. Once the body of the shawl is made, a delicate lace border is picked up and worked along the two edges in a contrasting yarn
